Description

The high-end audio market is being driven by the growing availability of high resolution sound sources. Asahi Kasei Microdevices Corporation (AKM) has responded to this market demand and has launched a new generation premium high-end multichannel A/D converter (ADC), VERITA AK557x series in Feb. 2016. In addition to this ADC series, AKM releases premium multichannel ADCs: AK555x and AK553x series. Totally, 11 products are available in ADC lineup including AK557x series.
The AK555x/AK553x capture incredible detailed and the true sound expression with its high resolution 32-bit processing by AKMs proprietary VELVET SOUND architecture that has been widely adopted by well-established high-end audio companies. This high resolution processing and noise tolerance designs of the AK555x/AK553x realize a low distortion recording. Digital output supports unsurpassed high resolution sound, up to 768 kHz sampling rate and 11.2 MHz DSD output is available.
This 2/4/6/8-channel line-up provides simple and optimal solution to any multichannel system by adopting the flexible TDM (Time Division Multiplexing) interface. The AK555x/AK553x corresponds to AEC-Q100 qualification and up to 105°C operation temperature for car audio amplifiers.
Ahead of high resolution sound era, AKM’s premium multichannel ADCs AK557x, AK555x and AK553x are able to respond to various demands of sound systems by covering three types of S/N characteristics and 2/4/6/8-channel number lineup. A combination of these ADCs and the AK445x/AK443x: 32-bit multichannel DACs realize high resolution 32-bit seamless processing from an input to an output with VELVET SOUND architecture.

● Dynamic sound recording with large amount of information

- AKMs VELVET SOUND architecture is utilized and Low-distortion technology achieves industry’s best performance.
- Four different IRD (Impulse Response Designed) digital filters types are selectable.

● Supporting High Resolution Data

- The digital output supports up to 768 kHz PCM and 11.2 MHz DSD (Direct Stream Digital), recording high resolution sound that is as close as possible to the original acoustic source.
- It is suitable for high resolution sound source recording that is becoming popular with Network Audio, USB DACs and Car Audio Systems.

● System Extensibility

- 2ch/4ch/6ch/8ch lineups provide best sound solution for the system.
- The digital output supports TDM, realizing daisy chain connection. A multi-channel system such as multichannel recorders, car audio amplifiers and mixers can be easily designed with these premium/advanced ADCs.
