History

1980 Miyazaki Electronics Co., Ltd founded as a subsidiary of Asahi Kasei Corporation, started hall sensor business
1982 Miyazaki Electronics renamed to Asahi Kasei Electrionics ("AKE")
1983 Asahi Kasei founded Asahi Microsystems as a 50:50 JV with AMI, started IC business
1984 Established LSI Design Center

Released Fine Pattern Coil products, established Fine Pattern Product Div.
1986 Turned Asahi Microsystems to a 100% subsidiary of Asahi Kasei Corp, renamed to Asahi Kasei Microsystems ("AKM")

AKE Fuji fabrication facility started its operation
1987 AKM Atsugi wafer fabrication facility started its operation
1993 AKM Nobeoka wafer fabrication facility started its operation
