It is suitable for smartphones, tablet computers and portable music players with Hi-Fi audio functions.
● Hi-Fi Audio Playback
AKM's VELVET SOUND architecture established by premium audio devices has been specifically redesigned for portable applications, realizing extremely high quality audio playback for audiophile music playback. As an audio device for mobile applications, the AK4961 achieves industry leading level performance of -99dB THD+N and 110dB Dynamic range with the newly developed 32-bit advanced audio DAC and low distortion & low power consumption headphone amplifier.

● Hi-Fi Audio Recording
The AK4961 enables a natural sound recording by utilizing AKM's advanced ADC technology, typically found in today's recording studios. It also integrates low-noise and low-power microphone amplifier for recording. High quality and realistic recoding performance is realized with AKM's DSP-driven original sound processing.

● Voice Processing and Hands-free Functions
The AK4961 features AKM's DSP core that enables advanced voice processing such as dual mic noise suppression, Tx/Rx noise suppression, echo cancellation, and full duplex hands free functions.

● Comprehensive interfaces
The AK4961 has five audio I/F and SLIMbus I/F to communicate with an application processor, supporting up to two Baseband processors, a Bluetooth module and a digital input class-D amplifier simultaneously, and mixes multiple signal with built-in SRCs, making it capable to correspond to various kinds of systems.
