AK7738VQThe AK7738 is an audio/voice digital signal processor that realizes high performance hands-free voice process in addition to audio process. Surround sound processing and high performance noise and echo cancellations can be executed simultaneously by the Multi Core DSP (Digital Signal Processor). This device integrates two stereo ADC’s (A/D converter), one monaural ADC, two stereo DAC’s (D/A converter) and four asynchronous SRC’s (Sample Rate Converter). Advanced 32-bit DAC’s are adopted for analog outputs, realizing a high-quality playback of high-resolution sound sources. The AK7738 is suitable for car audio, display audio, car navigation systems and hands-free systems.

● Digital Block | Multi Core DSP supporting 28-bit Floating Point Arithmetic
The “Multi Core DSP” that is composed by Dual Core DSP + Sub DSP capable of processing different sampling rates simultaneously. It supports 28-bit floating point arithmetic and has a parallel operation capability of 2560 steps/fs (at 48kHz sampling). In addition, the program RAM area is freely programmable for user applications, making it possible to realize various audio processing such as surround sound processing, a parametric equalizer and various sound effects utilizing the internal memory.

For DTS licensed users, programs such as SRS CS Auto and SRS WOW HD (*1) can be ported. Users can create their own applications by combining standard programs with their original algorithms.
AKM’s royalty-free, high performance noise and echo cancellation algorithms are available and already ported to the AK7738.
The frequency band of hands-free processing covers narrow band (8kHz), wide band (16kHz) and super wide band (24kHz) providing a clear and natural hands-free talk quality enabling full-duplex calls in high noise environments such as an automobile.

● Analog Block | Central Control of Analog/Digital Input and Output by "AudioHUB"
The AK7738 has two stereo ADC’s, one monaural ADC, two stereo DAC’s and four asynchronous stereo SRC’s , making it possible to compose the main block of a car audio system without requiring additional audio components.
For connection to other audio devices, a flexible serial interface is available with twelve input and twelve output channels (TDM mode: max. 24 input and 28 output channels). The AK7738 operates with MSB-first, LSB-first, I²S and PCM audio data formats. It can provide signals to a class-D amplifier and receive input data from external digital audio sources. Internal signal paths and connection to external LSI’s can be selected freely with the Audio HUB architecture, enabling a central control of analog/digital input and output.

The AK7738 has two stereo advance 32-bit DACs with VELVET SOUND technology taken from AKM’s premium audio series DACs and supports up to 192 kHz/32-bit PCM digital inputs. Moreover, a multichannel system can be easily composed by the AK7738 with an external DAC (AK443X series).
