Fan Motor Drivers

A single-phase brushless FAN motor pre-driver with a speed control is in mass production. The AK7361 has an interface and a linearity correction function for Hall elements, and provides stable motor drive with a PWM signal for speed controlling.

Time Optimization of Fast Decay mode reduces package heat generation.
It is possible to reduce the number of substrate layers and down size the system due to low heat generation.

H-Bridge Operation Sequence

Since the Fast Decay mode is operated only when it is necessary, heat generation will be suppressed. Therefore the total cost can also be suppressed (4 layers → 2 layer board etc.).

Current ripple is suppressed by executing Fast Decay operation only when necessary,
which will achieve smooth motor rotation.

Motor current is constantly monitored and Fast-decay mode is executed only when the current exceeds the target value. Low power consumption, less unevenness of the motor rotation and less vibration are achieved. The motor torque performance is improved with smooth rotation.

Ripples of traditional type are not small because Fast Decay operation is executed periodically. Since Active Decay controls while maintaining responsiveness, ripples can be kept small.

Common

[Q] Does the regulator built into a single power supply product operate with just entering the VM voltage?

[A] AP1029/AP1034/AP1035/AP1037 are a product operating on a single power supply.
The AP1029 operates the built-in regulator by setting the EN pin to "H" level (2V or more) after turning on the VM voltage.
TheAP1034/AP1035/AP1037 operate the built-in regulator by setting the SLEEPB pin to "H" level (2V or more) after turning on the VM voltage.

Stepping Motor Drivers

[Q] Please let us know how to handle the NC pin of AP1034/AP1035/AP1037.

[A] Since the NC pin is not connected to anywhere inside the IC, it can be OK for open, GND connection, power supply input.

DC Brush Motor Drivers

[Q] Is it possible to bundle the output when driving a single motor using 2ch DC brush motor driver?

[A] AP1014/AP1016/AP1018 are possible. Be sure to input the same signal for the input signal of each channel.
Although it is also possible for the AP1023, please set it so that the built-in PWM signal does not operate.
