Klaran™ UVC LEDs feature peak wavelength of 250 to 280 nm and world-leading germicidal output powers of 15 to 30 mW. Applications are expected to expand to include healthcare, home electronics, and various other fields where UVC disinfection of water, air, and surfaces had previously been impractical.
With increasing global awareness of environmental risks associated with the use of mercury, as exemplified by the Minamata Convention on Mercury adopted in October 2013, there has been a heightening need for a UV light source to replace mercury lamps that are currently used to disinfect drinking water, to produce ultrapure water for laboratory use, etc.

UVC LEDs for biofilm prevention
Optan SMD offers superior light output, long lifetimes and low power consumption for applications in biofilm prevention and biofoul control.
These surface mount devices are environmentally friendly and emit a spectrum optimized for DNA deactivation.
Peak wavelength range is 260-275nm and output light power is min 2.0mW.

Optan SMD is targeting biofouling control in scientific and industrial instruments. Damage resulting from bacteria and biofilms has wide ranging impact across industries by increasing operational and maintenance costs and reducing the accuracy of measurements.
