Product Status Information

There are 6 phases below in AKM Product Life Cycle.

1 Under development Product which is under development and planned to be released.
In some cases samples for evaluation are available.

2 In mass production Product in mass production and purchase order is acceptable.
3 Recommended for new design
(RND*)
Product recommended for new design - new products, e.g. * RND:
Recommend for New Design
4 Not recommended for new design
(NRND*)
Product not recommended for new design due to the reasons in the remarks column.
*Next generation product is/will be released.
*No plan for sales expansion.
*Discontinuation is planned.
* NRND:
Not Recommend for New Design
5 To be discontinued Product which PDN (Product Discontinuation Notice) is issued and LTB quantity is under discussion. Basically discontinuation will be indicated as “to be discontinued” in product status on this website 24 months in advance.
6 End of life
(EOL)
Product which 12 months passed after PDN and no LTB order is available.

Product Discontinuation Notice (PDN)/ Shipment for EOL Products

PDN based on JEDEC (JESD48B) is issued when AKM discontinues the product in MP.
Cut-off of LTB order is 1 year from the PDN announcement.
AKM accepts LTB orders 6 months from PDN announcement.

* LTB (Last Time Buy): Commitment to purchase specific quantity
* LBO (Last Buy Order): Purchase order for the demand committed by LTB

LBO is accepted for the quantity committed by the LTB due date.

PC (Product Change)

PCN (Product Change Notice)

Depending on the circumstances PCN may be issued during MP status.
Product change means the change or addition in specification.
In case of product change, AKM gives some announcement and starts the procedure following change control process, to the customers who have purchase result.
