AKM's Low-Jitter Clock Generator contribute to High-Performance PCI-Express System with compact package
AKM's Low-power 2ch clock generator can satisfy PCI-Express Gen 1.0 / 2.0 requirements which the power consumption is only 0.1[W].
 

Tokyo Japan, Mar. 7, 2014 - Asahi Kasei Microdevices Corporation (AKM) today launched the AK8160B, a member of AKM's low power and low jitter clock generator family designed for PCI-Express generation 2.0. This device has one PLL with spread spectrum (SS) function and enable to output high quality differential 100MHz as PCI-Express clock and 25MHz as reference simultaneously.

Many electrical apparatuses such as Server, Storage, Network apparatus, Printer, Camera, Game, HDTV and so on need high speed data communication. In accordance with this requirement, PCI-Express is becoming popular. AK8160B supports PCI-Express generation 1.0 / 2.0, USB 3.0, SATA 2.0 and so on.
The AK8160B is a member of AKM’s low power and low jitter clock generator family designed for PCI-Express generation 2.0. This device has one PLL with spread spectrum (SS) function and enable to output high quality differential 100MHz as PCI-Express clock and 25MHz as reference simultaneously.
The AK8160B is available in a 3mm x 3mm QFN very small package for mobile devices, so PCB Layout can be in one small footprint.
