Tokyo Japan, Mar. 7, 2014 - Asahi Kasei Microdevices Corporation (AKM) today launched the AK8160BV, a member of AKM’s low power and low jitter clock generator family designed for PCI-Express generation 2.0. This device has one PLL with spread spectrum (SS) function and enable to output high quality differential 100MHz as PCI-Express clock and 25MHz as reference simultaneously.

Background

Many electrical apparatuses such as Server, Storage, Network apparatus, Printer, Camera, Game, HDTV and so on need high speed data communication. In accordance with this requirement, PCI-Express is becoming popular especially in the automotive infotainment system. AK8160BV support PCI-Express generation 1.0 / 2.0, USB 3.0, SATA 2.0 and so on.
The AK8160BV is a member of AKM’s low power and low jitter clock generator family designed for PCI-Express generation 2.0. This device has one PLL with spread spectrum (SS) function and enable to output high quality differential 100MHz as PCI-Express clock and 25MHz as reference simultaneously.
