AKM’s CODEC Improves Smartphone Playback and Enhances User Experience


nubia | Z9nubia | Z9 Asahi Kasei Microdevices Corporation, the world leading audio converter supplier, today announced that nubia has chosen AKM’s Advanced Audio DSP CODEC AK4961 to provide the best sounding quality for its smartphone, Z9, that was launched on the 6th of May.
Unlike conventional audio solutions commonly used in high-end smartphones, AKM's advanced audio DSP CODEC AK4961 provides the user with state-of-the-art Hi-Fi sound playback and recording capability. The Hi-Fi recording in the AK4961 enables a natural sound recording by utilizing a derivative of AKM’s advanced ADC technology used in today’s recording studios enabling a professional level PCM recorder. This key feature is utilized during Video recording, Karaoke and other multimedia applications. Full duplex hands-free calling performance is also improved by an advanced noise cancelling algorithm running on the AK4961.
