Ultra-high Accuracy Coreless Current Sensor supporting 60Arms

Corresponding to the UL safety standard UL61800-5-1 for industrial equipment, AKM has developed the CZ-370x series coreless current sensor, which achieving both creepage distance and clearance distance greater than 8 mm.  With a wide current detection lineup from ±5.3 to ±180 App, 60 Arms, the CZ-370x series can be used for many applications including AC motors and general inverters.

NEW CZ-381x series: CZ-381x (x: 3, 4, 5)
Ultra-high Accuracy Coreless Current Sensor supporting operation up to 125°C

Even in a coreless architecture, CZ-381x series has a disturbing magnetic field suppression function on chip.  This sensor measures the magnetic flux created by the current, but it will not sense the magnetic flux which wraps the whole sensor such as the disturbing magnetic field.  It is a current sensor that can take a more accurate measurement under large disturbing magnetic field.  Because of the small package, it is very suitable for applications that have many current paths in a limited area such as the distribution board and the three-phase inverter circuit.  AKM can provide three types of different current sensing range products.

Ultra-small Coreless Current Sensor

CQ-320x series is a coreless current sensor in small size package with high galvanic isolation, especially designed for sensing the current range from 8.5 to 44A in 3.3V operation.  This low-voltage operating current sensor is suitable for air conditioning and solar power conditioner applications.  Seven types of different current sensing range products are available.

Advantages of AKM's Current Sensors

Output Characteristics of CQ Series

CQ series output the linear voltage with respect to the detected current value.

Output will saturate if the current flows over 'linear sensing range', which is different for different product.
Products with wider linear sensing range can detect the larger current, but on the other hand their outputs per 1A become smaller.
It is reccomended to select a product which has the optimal linear current range for customers' application.

    Please use in the condition that detected current does not exceed this value continuousuly.

 

Structure and Principle

[CQ-1 Series]
(a) Magnetic field is generated by the current flowing in the primary conductor.
(b) Magnetic core concentrates the magnetic field, and parallel magnetic field appears between the gap in the center of the core.
(c) Linear Hall ICs placed between the gap detects the parallel magnetic field, which is proportional to the current value.
