High-accuracy Step-down DC-DC Converter with 4.5A MOSFET
AP3440ABN

The AP3440ABN is a synchronous rectification PWM control step-down DC-DC converter of the current mode with excellent transient load response characteristics.
The recommended operational temperature ranges from −40 to 125ºC. It is capable for automotive use that demands high reliability.
The AP3440ABN is equipped with Output Over-Current Protection, Output Over-Voltage Protection, Under Voltage Lock Out, Thermal Protection, and Power-good function.

Supporting High Reliability Systems

The output voltage is constantly monitored by ±2% high precision power good function. When the output voltage is in an abnormal state, the AP3440 sends the error flag signal to microcomputers promptly. It supports a fail-safe environment with appropriate data saving processing.

Downsizing PCB

The AP3440 integrates a MOSFET that can supply maximum output current of 4.5A in a 5mm × 5mm 28-pin QFN package with a heat dissipation pad on the back surface. 2.1MHz operation helps miniaturizing peripheral components. Therefore, a printed circuit board can be downsized.

150℃ warranty

Electrical characteristics are guaranteed in Tj = -40 to 150℃, assuming operation environments that require high reliability.

AP1400AEC

The AP1400AEC is a multi-channel power control IC equipped with a 4-channel DC-DC converter and a 2-channel LDO, supporting 4 to 12 V input voltage.
Start and stop sequences for each channel can be set independently via registers. This enables a wide range of power control for the AP1400AEC according to each operation mode.
Since various protect functions such as input current sense function are built in, the AP1400 can be safely stopped in cases of abnormality.

Flexible Control of Power Up Sequence

Since the wait time until start-up oepration (0 to 32 ms, 8 settings), soft start time, (1 to 10 ms, 4 settings), and power-on channels can be selected via register settings, an optimum power profile for your product model and operation modes can be achieved.

Low Standby Current

In standby mode, the CPU power supply and I2C control are active. The current consumption as low as 19uA at maximum which provides a long battery life.

Small Package

The AP1400 is housed in a small WLCSP of 2.9 mm x 4.1 mm, shrinking the system size.

Linear Regulators (LDO)

AKM’s LDO series realizes high ripple rejection performance with low noise characteristics using AKM’s circuit technology that has been developed with many years’ experience in its market and a silicon monolithic bipolar architecture. The LDO series is suitable for a low-noise power supply system such as Automotive Infotainments, Image Sensors and Measurement Instruments.

AP1161ABN / AP1163ABN

AKM has launched low-noise LDO regulators, the AP1161AB and the AP1163ABN, which meet functional safety *1.

*1:  ISO26262 requirements for functional safety requirements can easily be achieved when utilized these devices.

● High precision monitoring of output voltage

The AP1161ABN/AP1163ABN monitors the output voltage to detect undervoltage and overvoltage status.  If the status is met, a flag signal is sent to the MCU.

● Self-diagnostic function

Failure of the monitoring function can be detected by inputting, "H", signal to the DIAG pin.  By incorporating this function into the system, periodic fault detection during operation is available.

● Low-output noise

The AP1161ABC/1163ABC achieves output noise of 180 nV/√Hz, (at 10kHz), and PSRR of 78dB, (at 1kHz) *2.  This exceeds the requirements of in-vehicle communications for severe noise and RF power supply requirements.

The AP115xAEU series achieves miniaturization to 1.8 × 2.2 × 0.6 mm while maintaining low output noise performance of AP1150ADSXX, AP1151ADS, AP1152ADUXX, AP1158ADS. In addition, the AP115xAEU has significantly improved heat dissipation by adopting a package with a heat dissipation pad on the bottom surface, (Power Dissipation is 1.6 times to 3 times higher than the previous series).
