AKM has developed a new DAC, the AK4499EQ. It is the latest, “VELVET SOUND VERITA”, product, following the prior generation flagship DAC, the AK4497EQ. The AK4499 adopts Current Output architecture, which is the first among AKM products. It achieves the world’s highest class of low THD+N and high S/N.
The World’s Highest in Class Characteristics Achieved by Current Output Architecture
THD+N: -124dB can be achieved from the Low Distortion Technology optimized for Current Output architecture. 140dB DR and S/N are also achieved in mono mode.
Dynamic Sound Playback with Vast Playback Resolution Detail
The same Dedicated for Premium Audio LSI process and Premium Audio Non-Magnetic Packaging Technology as the AK4497EQ developed for audio by AKM is also used for the AK4499EQ. It can improve electrical margin and noise around low frequency ranges dramatically.

As an upgrade from the best-selling AK4490EQ, which has been adopted by many high-end audio products since the launched in 2014, AKM, has developed the AK4493EQ, a premium high-end D/A converter. The AK4493EQ uses an improved VELVET SOUND architecture, optimizing the circuit design. It also employs AKM’s original dedicated audio process. This process has improved electric margin, low frequency noise performance, and the original acoustic sound expression that can be found in the sound strength and the data amount.
Low-distortion technology achieves -113dB THD+N DAC with a 123dB (stereo) SNR characteristic. The AK4493EQ has higher performance than the AK4490EQ. The digital input supports up to 768 kHz PCM and 22.4 MHz DSD, (Direct Stream Digital), as an industry first. 32-bit six different digital filter types are selectable according to the user’s audio and system preferences.
The AK4493EQ is ideal for Network Audio players focusing sound quality, SACD players, and Hi-Res audio systems supporting high-resolution sound sources.

The AK4497 is a next flagship premium DAC. VELVET SOUND architecture has been improved enhancing its sound quality with our newly developed LSI manufacturing process that is exclusive for AKM’s audio devices. It realizes the highest performance of 128dB (stereo) S/N and -116dB THD+N characteristics among AKM’S D/A converters. The digital input supports up to 768kHz PCM and 22.4MHz DSD, the top performance in the industry. In addition, a sound quality optimized 32-bit digital filter is newly added to the other filters found in our previous generation device.
The AK4497 is ideal for a high-resolution audio source playback for network audio, SACD players and high-end audio systems.

The AK4452VN/54VN/56VN/58VN are new generation 32-bit multi-channel Premium DAC series. Digital input supports PCM inputs up to 768kHz and DSD input of 2.8MHz/5.6MHz / maximum 11.2MHz the industry's highest level. Internal circuit employs a newly developed 32-bit Digital Filter considering sound quality.
It is ideal for the system such as Network Audio Player focusing sound quality, SACD player, high-end audio system supporting high resolution sound source.
