Asahi Kasei Microdevices (AKM)’s evaluation kits detect respiration, position, and posture without physical contact while ensuring privacy.
With USB, Wi-Fi®, or Bluetooth® Low Energy connectivity and GUI operation, flexible evaluation is possible to suit various environments.

This demo showcases real-time detection of a person’s position and state using the AIMEZ-V evaluation kit. This model allows for non-contact, real-time tracking of human location, and can also distinguish between standing, sitting, and fallen postures.
Since detection is achieved without using a camera, it enables privacy-conscious monitoring.

By installing AIMEZ-V on the ceiling of a room, human respiration can be detected without contact. It can detect breathing not only in upright postures but also lying with face down, helping to quickly identify abnormalities, particularly useful for individuals living alone.
Since this system uses a millimeter-wave radar instead of a camera, it can be safely used in privacy-sensitive environments, such as during sleeping periods.

This demonstration introduces the LUMI evaluation kit, which enables the simultaneous detection of the positions of multiple individuals and the posture or fallen state of one person.
This model uses AKM’s millimeter-wave radar modules, AK5816AIM/AK5818AIM. It acquires high-precision 3D point cloud data, which is analyzed through signal processing leveraging a machine learning technology.
Without using a camera, the system accurately detects the positions of multiple individuals, and for one of them, it identifies their posture or fallen state without physical contact.
This demonstration showcases an example where the system simultaneously detects the positions of three individuals and the posture of one person.
