Corresponding to the UL safety standard UL61800-5-1 for industrial equipment, AKM has developed the CZ-3A series coreless current sensor ICs, which achieves both creepage distance and clearance greater than 8.0mm.
With a wide current detection lineup, and two overcurrent detection circuits, the CZ-3A series can be used for inverter control which detects overcurrent while controlling phase current.
Applications
It is suitable for the application which requires insulation and achieve small size with low heat generation.
Features
3.3V output
The CZ-3A series supports 3.3V output. It is best for a sensor signal input to a 3.3V AD converter.
In addition, this series has both VDD 5V and 3.3V products as below.
VDD=5V, Output=3V
VDD=3.3V, Output=3.3V
Creepage distance/Clearance ≧ 8mm
By developing AKM's original package, both creepage distance and clearance of 8.0mm or more is achieved. It supports a Working Voltage of 600Vrms (with reinforced insulation), making insulation design easy.
Support wide current range and 50Arms Low-heat Generation
CZ-3A series has a low resistance of 0.27mΩ as the primary conductor resistance with AKM's original package. As a result, compared to shunt resistors and similar products of other companies, heat generation when applying the current can be greatly suppressed, and 50Arms continuous current is achieved. Furthermore, availability with wide current detection ranges is available. This enables to adopt common design of system boards, making it easy to roll it out to other models with different ratings.
Overcurrent detection function
The CZ-3A series has two overcurrent detection circuit, and each overcurrent detection threshold can be adjusted from the outside. Therefore, it makes easier to design the protection of the system.
