AKM releases compact and premium D/A converter using audio-optimized LSI manufacturing process

Description
Asahi Kasei Microdevices Corporation (AKM) has released the AK4462VN, a 32-bit stereo compact and premium audio D/A converter (DAC) that is the smallest device in AKM's premium DAC products, as part of its new DAC lineup. An audio-optimized LSI manufacturing process used in the flagship DAC AK4499 is also adopted in this DAC. The AK4462VN can create high-quality audio systems for portable digital audio players, electronic musical instruments, and various types of audio equipment, including those installed in vehicles.

Features
VELVET SOUND Technology and Premium Audio LSI Manufacturing Process
As an AKM premium audio product, the AK4462VN supports VELVET SOUND features such as a proven low-distortion technology and Over Sampling Ratio Doubler (OSRD) technology, which improve out-of-band noise suppression. It is also produced using premium audio LSI manufacturing process so that you can achieve dynamic high-resolution playback with incredible detail.

Small Package
The AK4462VN is housed in a 24-pin QFN, (4 x 4mm), package. This enables high-quality sound reproduction in small device applications.
Automatic Mode Switching Function
The AK4462VN provides DoP format playback in addition to PCM and DSD. PCM/DSD and PCM/DoP mode automatic switching functions are also available. 1-bit formats can be easily played back in this device.
