Infrared sensors are the best infrared light receiving element for NDIR type gas sensing.

AKM's infrared sensors utilize the semiconductor thin film epitaxial growth technology accumulated through manufacturing of magnetic sensors, which achieves wavelength sensitivity control optimized for the gas absorption wavelength band and high-speed response, high signal-to-noise ratio.

Our own compact molded resin packaging technology contributes to the downsizing of gas sensors as the world's smallest class Surface Mounted Devices (SMD) infrared sensors.

IR Sensor with Optical Filter:
The AK9730 is suitable for NDIR flammable gas sensing

AK9730AJ

Flammable gas absorbs infrared light of a specific wavelength. The AK9730 has an optical filter with a transmission band in the absorption band of flammable gas in the IR sensor. This makes it easy to configure non-dispersive optical (NDIR: Non Dispersive Infrared) flammable gas sensor by providing an external infrared light source.

● High Sensitivity, High Speed Response
Conventionally, a thermopile is used in a NDIR gas sensor. The AK9730 has a three times higher sensitivity and more than 1,000 times faster responsiveness than thermopile solutions.

● Integrate Optical Filter that Passes Infrared Absorbing Band
There is measurable spectrum in the infrared band of flammable gas. The AK9730 has an optical filter suitable for Methane gas detection that is a representative of flammable gases detection. With this optical filter, system designs can be simplified.

The AK9710 is suitable for NDIR CO2 sensing

AK9710AE

CO2 absorbs infrared light of a specific wavelength. The AK9710 has an optical filter with a transmission band in the absorption band of CO2 in the IR sensor. This makes it easy to configure non-dispersive optical (NDIR: Non Dispersive Infrared) CO2 sensor by providing an external infrared light source.

● High Sensitivity, High Speed Response
Conventionally, a thermopile is used in an NDIR gas sensor. The AK9710 has a 3X higher sensitivity and more than 1000 times faster responsiveness than thermopile solutions.

● Integrate Optical Filter that Passes Infrared Observing Band
There is measurable spectrum in the infrared band of CO2. The AK9710 has an optical filter that only passes the infrared portion of the band. With this optical filter, system designs can be simplified.
