Senseair's compact, high accuracy, low power consumption NDIR type CO2 sensors and AKM's CO2 sensor components

Products

Senseair AB, a member of the Asahi Kasei Microdevices (AKM) Group, creates non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) type CO2 sensors that are compact yet highly accurate and which consume so little power that they can be powered by batteries. Concerns about the spread of disease has led to indoor ventilation becoming even more important. These CO2 sensors are suitable for use in portable products for monitoring air quality in classrooms, office buildings, and stores, and other spaces.

In addition, energy savings and comfortable environments can be realized in sealed indoor environments such as high-rise office buildings by controlling air conditioning ventilation systems while measuring CO2 concentrations. In automotive applications, air conditioner workloads can be reduced by optimally controlling ventilation flow while measuring the CO2 concentration of the car cabin. This improves fuel efficiency while reducing power consumption.

AKM also manufactures and sells components used in NDIR type CO2 sensors (infrared LEDs , infrared sensors, and analog front-end (AFE) IC with built-in infrared LED drivers). The infrared detectors are high-sensitivity, fast response, and compact. They are also equipped with optical filters that selectively transmit only the infrared absorption spectrum band of the gas to be detected.
