Miyazaki Electronics renamed to Asahi Kasei Electrionics ("AKE")

1983

Asahi Kasei founded Asahi Microsystems as a 50:50 JV with AMI, started IC business

1984

Established LSI Design Center

1986

Turned Asahi Microsystems to a 100% subsidiary of Asahi Kasei Corp, renamed to Asahi Kasei Microsystems ("AKM")

AKE Fuji fabrication facility started its operation
