The importance of indoor ventilation has been advocated as a countermeasure against infectious diseases such as the new coronavirus (COVID-19) and influenza, as well as against the impacts on the health and work efficiency in highly sealed indoor environments such as high-rise office buildings. Measuring CO2 concentration is one of the most effective ways to ventilate these areas. In addition, the CO2 sensor must be portable, battery-powered, and compact so that it can be easily installed. Furthermore, efficient ventilation minimizes unnecessary air conditioning control, making it possible to save energy and create a comfortable indoor environment.
We propose a CO2 sensor that achieves these goals.
Transceiver ICs for Millimeter-wave Radar
With the outbreak of the new coronavirus (COVID-19 ), families are spending more and more time at home, and each person is required to have a comfortable indoor living environment. Since each person feels comfortable in a different indoor environment, it is necessary to accurately understand the location of family members when preparing the indoor environment.
To achieve these goals, we propose a transceiver IC for millimeter-wave radar with high spatial recognition capability.
Tri-axis Magnetic Sensors
The spread of IoT has allowed us to easily check various states of a house. For example, when you leave the house, you can check that the front door is locked and the windows are locked. For security applications, it is possible to detect the opening and closing of windows and doors by suspicious persons, control the direction of security cameras, and monitor various other situations.
We propose a 3D magnetic sensor that can simultaneously detect magnetic signals in three axes (X, Y, and Z directions) as a mechanism to realize these comfortable and safe living conditions.
As we become more and more connected to various devices around the house, smooth speech recognition as an interface (I/F) with the devices is necessary to make our lives more comfortable. To do this, it is necessary to accurately identify only the voice that will be used as a command from among various sounds (noise, etc.). AKM's A/D converters for microphones use the same high-quality sound technology as that used in studio recording equipment and professional audio applications to achieve a high signal-to-noise ratio and low distortion.
We propose audio ICs such as A/D converters that can clearly capture even the faintest signals without being buried in the background noise.
