Asahi Kasei Microdevices Corporation (AKM) opened the AKM Co-creation & Technology Center, a new technology development base, in Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture.
In 2023, AKM set its corporate tagline to "Becoming a circuit that connects the world." Additionally, AKM made its mission "To expand the realm of perception by combining technologies." AKM is dedicated to expanding the limits of what people can experience with breakthrough ideas that combine technologies and implement innovation that contributes to society.
To achieve these ideals, the newly established "AKM Co-creation & Technology Center" will meet the key functions of development, design, and research to quickly identify customer concerns, develop solutions, and bring them to fruition.
AKM has stated that it will strive to speed up technology development and provide new value to customers by accelerating the development of solutions across diverse businesses and technologies and strengthening collaboration with external partners.

The Center has a Proof of Concept (PoC) demonstration area to showcase AKM’s latest technology advancements. It allows visitors to see firsthand AKM’s solutions in action.

There is audio room at the Center designed for visitors to experience AKM’s “as if you were there” sound that serves as the philosophy behind the company’s “VELVET SOUND” audio solutions brand.
The room will also serve as a collaboration space with audio equipment manufacturers and business partners to develop sound solutions.
In the room, visitors will be able to listen firsthand to AKM’s latest D/A converters (DACs).

There will be permanent exhibit featuring a demo vehicle equipped with automotive solutions.

・Active Road Noise Cancellation (ARNC) for quiet driving at high speeds
・Hands-free communication systems
・In-Car Communication (ICC) for easy communication in large vehicles
・Engine Sound Creator, which simulates the sound of an engine in EVs that do not have one to create a familiar experience for users.
