Solutions
The tri-axis magnetic sensor-based linear stroke detection solution of Asahi Kasei Microdevices Corporation (AKM) provides higher accuracy and wider linear stroke detection range than typical solutions that use single-axis magnetic sensors. This page introduces AKM's recommended products along with their four features.
Wider stroke detection
AKM's tri-axis magnetic sensors can detect longer linear strokes than single-axis magnetic sensors.
Demonstration
Algorithm Robust to Mounting Error
AKM's tri-axis magnetic sensors are not susceptible to mounting errors, and depending on the required accuracy, the calibration process can be reduced.
Demonstration
Less susceptible to temperature characteristics on the magnet
Magnets change in strength as temperature changes, and AKM's linear stroke detection solutions are robust to these changes, enabling more accurate linear stroke detection.
More Freedom in Layout
By taking advantage of the tri-axis feature, linear stroke detection is possible in a variety of layouts.
It can flexibly respond to limited space and severe layout constraints.
AK09973D is ideal for non-contact detection of relative positions, distances, postures and angles with magnets by using it in combination with a magnet.
AK09973D is packaged in 5-pin WL-CSP with 0.4[mm] ball-pitch. Size is 1.18 × 0.78 x 0.55[mm] and it comprises 2 pins for power supply, 2 pins for I²C communication, and one Interrupt output pin.
Ideal for high-precision linear stroke detection of several mm to several tens of mm
We introduce why AKM's tri-axis magnetic sensors has been chosen by a large number of customers.
