Millimeter-wave radar IC of AKM achieves the smallest range resolution of 2.2cm and 50[cm] isolation performance* with the following functions:

  • Multiple integration of 4-ch each for transmission and reception
  • Frequency modulation function with max. 7[GHz](57-64[GHz])

 

This high functionality IC enables the simultaneous detection of multiple persons.

In addition, with its ability of detection of positions of non-stationary persons, it allows applications in various situations.

Product performance that enables flexible system design

  • Its support for 57-64[GHz] band permits the usage worldwide.
  • The received data can be output either by converting it to target position/reflection intensity information or as it is.
  • High-speed sensing cycle with its high sampling rate of 53.3[Msps/ch]
  • Antennas can be designed freely as no antenna is incorporated.

Three system-design options are available according to the applications

  1. The use of the high-speed high-accuracy ADC data enables a wide range of computations.
  2. Low-cost and high-level signal processing is possible by combining arithmetic processing performed by built-in IC and inexpensive MCU.
  3. Useful for simple position detection and so on by using arithmetic processing performed by built-in IC.
