AKM developed audio A/D converter with built-in 4-channel microphone amplifier with DR 109[dB] at 9.7[mW], which is connectable to current output sensors
2023/07/25
Description
Asahi Kasei Microdevices Corporation (AKM) has developed the AK5705, a low power consumption 4-channel 32-bit A/D converter (ADC) with a built-in transimpedance amplifier in addition to a low-noise microphone amplifier.
This product supports a sampling frequency of 384[kHz] and achieves a dynamic range of 109[dB], while consuming 43[%] less power than our conventional products. Furthermore, the built-in AC coupling capacitor significantly reduces the mounting area including external components.
The built-in transimpedance amplifier allows connection to current-output sensors also such as photodiodes.
Samples of the AK5705 are currently provided and its sale will commence in the fourth quarter of 2023.
Features
109[dB] dynamic range with low power consumption
The AK5705 has a 4-channel ADC that ensures 32-bit resolution and 109[dB] dynamic range. It supports up to 384[kHz] sampling and can be combined with wideband microphones. The power consumption at AVDD = 3.3[V], 4-ch ADC, 48[kHz] sampling operation is 9.69[mW].
Significant reduction in mounting area including external components
No external AC coupling capacitors are required for analog inputs, so systems can be built with fewer external components.
Built-in transimpedance amplifier
A transimpedance amplifier for current-to-voltage conversion is built in to convert the output current of the sensor or photodiode to digital data.
