Description
Asahi Kasei Microdevices Corporation (AKM) will begin sample provision of the automotive rotary angle sensor IC, AK7455B, in October 2025.
The AK7455B complies with the AEC-Q100 standard for automotive electronic components, offering both high-precision angle detection and excellent durability.
Leveraging its proven track record in industrial equipment and robotics, AKM has developed a product suitable for automotive applications.
Features
Achieves a high accuracy of ±0.1 degree with a simple configuration
With a simple configuration using a 2-pole magnet, the AK7455B is capable of high-precision angle detection of ±0.1° and fast response of 5μs.
In addition, since the angle can be corrected by a simple procedure including errors due to assembly tolerances, fine mounting position adjustment is not required.
Stable System Operation Even in Harsh Temperature Environments
AKM’s unique sensor design and circuit technology ensure excellent offset and sensitivity characteristics, achieving superior temperature performance.
As a result, the sensor performs stably even in areas with significant temperature changes, such as near dashboards or roofs.
Compatible with Both Shaft-End and Off-Axis Configurations
The sensor supports both shaft-end and off-axis configurations.
Supporting off-axis configuration enables flexible layouts such as thinner designs along the shaft axis and internal wiring for motor cables.
