AKM HiFi 4 DSPs supporting Audio Weaver
Audio & Voice DSPs
AKM’s new DSPs feature support for DSP Concepts' Audio Weaver and expand the potential of audio system design.
AKM has partnered with DSP Concepts, Inc. (DSP Concepts) to bring support for the Audio Weaver platform to the AKM DSP family. This integration has resulted in a flexible and scalable audio and voice application development environment.
AKM’s new pin-compatible audio DSPs are likewise easily scalable across system variants. The AK7018’s dual-core HiFi 4 DSP configuration offers great flexibility: since the HiFi 4 is a C-programmable DSP, users may elect to use both cores with Audio Weaver or use the second core (or both) to run custom audio algorithms. The single-core AK7017 is an easy option for less processor-intensive systems, and the AK7709 provides four AKM DSP cores in addition to its two HiFi 4 cores.
Advanced automotive infotainment systems require multiple microphones and speakers for each seating position, as well as additional mics for noise cancelation. Accordingly, all three new AKM DSPs support a maximum of 152 audio channels in and out. Eight independent clock zones, combined with 20 channels of ASRC, allow for a large variety of I/O and clocking configurations to suit even the most complex audio systems.
