The CQ2 series is a series of cored current sensors. It features a simple structure (AI-Shell®) that combines a highly sensitive compound Hall element, a magnetic core, and primary conductor.
It has an extremely low primary conductor resistance (100μΩ), making it suitable for products in which heat must be minimized.
In addition, the CQ2 series has a wide creepage and clearance distance of 13.3 mm, allowing it to be used at high operating voltages.

1. Low heat generation
The CQ2 series has a primary conductor resistance of 100μΩ (25°C) due to its unique AI-Shell package structure. Since the amount of heat generation is proportional to the resistance value, this enables it to minimize increases in temperature even when a large current is passed through it.
2. Clearance, Creepage distance
The CQ2 series has a unique package structure called AI-Shell, with creepage and spatial distances of 13.3 mm or more. It is made with Gr=3 material, so the operating voltage is as follows in pollution degree 2 environments.

3. Ultra-high accuracy
In package structures, there is usually a tradeoff between low primary conductor resistance/large creepage and spatial distances and resolution.This is because the magnetic fields that collect in the Hall element tend to be small.However, the CQ2 series uses InAs Hall elements with highly sensitive quantum well structures. This enables them to have low heat generation and a creepage/clearance distance of 13.3mm while also offering high resolution.
